1. How to apply?
If you feel you are eligible (see question 6 below) you can upload the scanned documents yourself and apply online. You can upload your admission documents already during online application. Also you will have the opportunity to upload your documents in a later stage.
2. Language requirements.

If you want to go to Finland, Poland, Lithuania, Czech Republic and Belgium, English is compulsory.
If you want to go to Turkey, either English or Turkish is compulsory.
If you want to go to Germany either German or English is compulsory

To assess your English level:
this could either be done through TOEFL (equivalent to minimum 550 paper based) or IELTS (6,5). For more information about the several tests please go to the website of TOEFL or IELTS

To assess your Turkish level a telephonic interview will be held together with one of the partner coordinators.

3. Application procedure

The application procedure will be online. Hard copy versions will be also available at the desk of local coordinators. Together with the application form we will request a motivation letter, a recommendation letter, cv, transcript of records duly certified. In the case of phd and post-doc application forms the research proposal form that will be posted on the website should be added.

4. Admission criteria

Admission criteria is discretionary by each host institution. Selection criteria will be based on academic records, language skills and other variables as motivation, impact of the mobility and gender balance, for example.

5. Can I apply?

Nationals of the five Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan), students and academic staff registered in one of the European universities member of the partnership are applicable for the programme. For details, please see the page with the description of target Groups of the programme.

6. Who is eligible?

Students and academic staff registered in one of the universities member of the partnership: 12 universities of Central Asian countries and 8 universities of EU countries (target Group I).
Nationals of the five Central Asian countries (target Group II).
Nationals of the five Central Asian countries who are in particularly vulnerable situations, for political or economic reasons or because of physical disabilities (target Group III).

7. Application period

The approximate timing will be:

  • for PhD students, postdoctoral and AS candidates: application from July 2009, start by September/October 2009
  • for EU candidates submissions during September, October 2009, start from January, February 2010.
  • for CA undergraduate and master degrees: application throughout 2010 (January-February), start from August 2010.

9. Target groups

There are three Target Groups for individual mobility flows and five different types of individual mobility for students and academic staff.

Group I:

Students and academic staff registered in one of the universities member of the partnership.

Group II:

Nationals of the Third-countries concerned by the geographical lot, registered in a higher education institution of these countries not included in the partnership or having obtained a university degree or equivalent by an institution of these countries. This includes the possibility of providing mobility opportunities to Third-country nationals working in public administration, public and private enterprises.

Group III:

Nationals of the third-countries concerned by the geographical lot who are in particularly vulnerable situations, for political or economic reasons or because of physical disabilities. For example:

1) having a refugee status or asylum beneficiaries (international or according to the national legislation of one of the European recipient countries) or
2) it can be proved that they have been the object of unjustified expulsion from university on racial, ethnic, religious, political, gender or sexual inclination or
3) they belong to an indigenous population targeted by a specific national policy or IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons)
